Reading goals for 2008:

  • 60 books (5 a month)
  • 5 books off The Big List. The Big List is an ongoing list of books I “should” have read. These are mostly classics, and since I read 4 of them last year, I figure 5 is doable this year.
  • 1 book of short stories.
  • 1 Russian novel.
  • More by men. (only 14% in 2007)
  • More non-fiction of any type.
  • Try to read anything published in 2008 IN 2008.
  • Complete my personal TBR Challenge list. This list is made of books that were hugely popular last year and that I own, but never got around to reading.
  • Continue blogging about what I’m reading.

Hi, there! My name is Beth Fehlbaum, and my debut novel, Courage in Patience, is being released in September. It goes on sale next month, though on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. I’m in the process of setting up a blog tour beginning in March, and seeking hosts. PLEASE check out my site, http://courageinpatience.blogspot.com and let me know if you would be interested in hosting me on one of my stops! I would LOVE to get to know your teen readers because I know they will enjoy Courage in Patience.
Anyone who hosts me in my blog tour will have their name put in a hat for an autographed copy of Courage in Patience. Please e-mail me at beth@bethfehlbaum.com, if you would like to talk about my tour.
    Thanks!
    Beth Fehlbaum

  2. You’ve given me an idea: I think I’m going to try to put together a Big List for myself.

  3. I like how you did Reading Goals. Gives me ideas. I read Time Traveler’s Wife and Sister’s Keeper. My first Picoult novel. It was ok. I actually listened to it on tape so I don’t know if that took anything away from the story. Time Traveler’s was good but a little long. I think it could have been condensed and still told the same story. I could not get into Water for Elephants and could not get past the first 2 pages of Wicked. Turned me off completely. I hope you have better luck.

  4. Bree, I’e heard the same thing before about Wicked. It seems to be a love it or hate it book.

  5. I have some of the same books on my TBR pile and I hope to read them soon – WATER FOR ELEPHANTS and THE THIRTEENTH TALE and today I started reading BEL CANTO. I have read THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE which I liked, but wouldn’t rave about.

  6. Lisa- Are you doing a list for 2009?
